...in the past couple of weeks. I can vouch for another one of Gil’s theories that nail biting is more closely related to boredom than stress. …My house was broken into. If that isn't a stressful situation!!! Well, I still have all ten of my nails. I don't think I even thought about my nails for at least the next 3 days. The break in probably broke the psychological part of the habit which is just as hard to kick as the physical part. My thinking is the whole process to break the nail biting habit completely both the psychological and the physical could take 6 months to a year. You have to retrain your brain also. Maybe that could be Gil’s next book!
