This seems to have uncovered my hidden talent
posted this review on July 8, 2014

Easy Face Painting is definitely an easy to follow course on face painting. I’ve learned so much from it, and now, I’m already hooked on face painting! I’ve face painted for several family occasions because we have a lot of kids in the family. I don’t draw on paper, but when it comes to face painting, it seems like I’m great! Hahahaha! I think this guide uncovered my hidden talent.

The best face painting course for beginners

This is the best face painting course I’ve seen. It’s the easiest, so it’s perfect for beginners. The designs are mostly very simple ones. I held an event for the kids for our church. The idea is to take care of the children while their parents were in the service. Kinda like giving the parents a few hours break from parenthood. I did face painting along with my friends, and we also taught the kids basic face and body painting, letting them practice on some volunteers. They had so much fun! A lot of the parents told me that their kids couldn’t stop talking about the event, and they were asking for another one. I’m now using another face painting book, a more difficult one since this only has basic designs. I hope the author included some difficult ones for practice too, but yeah this is good enough as it is for the price. If you’re a beginner and you really need to learn face painting as fast as possible, this is highly recommended.

So many easy designs for beginners

I learned face painting through this book. Just basic stuff because my hands aren’t really talented. We have visits to the orphanage twice in a week. We play games with the kids, and eat special food with them. I was assigned face painting because I was the only one brave enough to take on the challenge. Good thing there are a lot of easy designs in this book. You don’t have to be a talented artist to try this out. I can make simple butterflies, clown looks, easy versions of dogs, tigers, and cats. They’re not that detailed, but they’re enough to keep the kids happy.

Our face painting booth was a success!

Easy Face Painting is really easy to follow! I’m not that artsy but I needed to learn how to face paint for the school fair, and this is what I used to learn. The book covers everything from the initial supplies needed to the designs and all that. It’s really packed with information. I love how the designs start out from the basics to the more difficult ones. It really lets me build my skills. My favorite lesson has got to be the use of stencils. As I said, I’m not that artsy so using stencils is a must for me. It’s easier to work with stencils when you can’t do most of the strokes in a design.  It’s also cleaner. Our face painting booth was a success thanks to Easy Face Painting.

So easy to follow for beginners

This book is a perfect face painting guide for beginners. For more advanced face painters, it might be too basic, so I won’t recommend this for all levels. Strictly for beginners! There may be some designs that might be new to intermediate face painters, but yeah, still more appropriate for beginners. The instructions are so clear and they’re soooo easy to follow! I just hope it came with more full face designs as I like that better. But they’re more difficult, so that’s probably why. I tried some of the designs on my friends just for fun, and they stayed on pretty much the whole day, but it wasn’t that hot then, so I’m not sure if it’s got the same effect in really hot and humid places.

You don't need to attend face painting workshops anymore

I paint on canvass, so I thought face painting will be a piece of cake for me, but I was wrong. The strokes and the materials are different, so getting the look that you want using paper techniques is quite difficult. I get decent results, but not ones that will really wow people. They were just ok, and I don’t want to settle for that. Getting this book and learning from it is a good decision. It shows you the most effective techniques to make your face paint really pop, and you get to learn them as you do different designs, so you get theory and practice at the same time. Also, you get tips on how to customize designs, which is the most important stuff for me because I want to make a business out of face painting. It also gives you tips on the best kind of equipment and tools to buy and how you can get them affordably. It’s really an entire package for someone who’s new in face painting. I’ve learned a lot from it, and I think it’s a better alternative to attending face painting workshops.

I learned face painting in less than two weeks!

I needed to learn to face paint for my niece’s birthday. She wanted a face painter for her birthday, and as I was totally broke then and couldn’t give her a nice gift, I decided I’d just be the face painter for her birthday. It was difficult at first as I needed to learn from the very basics. I didn’t have any knowledge about painting prior to that so just learning the brush strokes was challenging. However, after I got the basics all set, everything was much easier. The kids loved my work on their faces, and parents said they looked professionally done. Some of them signed me up to do face painting for their kid’s parties. I’m practicing more advanced designs now, and I’ve purchased other books for more complicated painting ideas, but if you’re just starting out, and your target audience are little ones, you’d be best starting off from this.

Easy to learn and the designs are great!

I’ve been thinking about a new way to brighten up weekends with my kids. I needed something that’s both easy and affordable, since I’m not that artsy myself. This book is just perfect! It’s cheap, the lessons are easy to follow, and my kids love the designs. I’m still practicing, though. It’s just so nice to see the kids trying their hands on it too, and posing for cutie pictures. I think this is also perfect for pre-school teachers who are looking for ways to liven up their arts class. I just hope it came with videos, so it’s easier for the kids to learn on their own.
