House Carers is an online house sitting directory. It offers house sitting assignments in the United States and all over the world. If you are a homeowner, you can register for free and post your ad. House Carers will then try to match you up with a house sitter that is right for you. If, on the other hand, you're looking to become a house sitter, you'll have to pay an annual membership fee of $50.
Once you're registered as a housesitter, you can choose the desired location of your next assignment and the times when you'll be available and the House Carers website will help you find the assignment. You can select as many locations as you please and this way greatly increase your chance of selection.
After registering at HouseCarers, you'll immediately start receiving email notifications of all the assignments in your selected location right after they become available. Once you are chosen, the House Carers will help you set up a contract with the homeowner and your assignment can begin.
This is a fantastic service. We had about 10 replies in three days, mostly from very suitable people. We will use it again. I like the fact that our confidentiality is protected and that you have such comprehensive guide-lines for agreement between sitter and house-owner.
