This is worth every penny

Winemaking and wine tasting became my hobbies after divorce. The shrink told me that I need to think of something enjoyable to keep occupied, and since I’ve always loved wine, I decided to try winemaking and see what happens. The thing about winemaking is that you get to drink your wine after! I totally enjoyed winemaking through the tips and tricks in The Complete Illustrated Guide to Homemade Wine. The ideas are excellent and there is a complete beginner’s guide as well. I would say that it’s definitely helped me a lot in getting started and until now, I still consult it from time to time for some ideas!

A must-read for those who want to try winemaking

My wife and I got a new hobby out of wine making. It’s a very enjoyable hobby. We have a friend who has a grape plantation somewhere in the country, and he supplies us with grapes to turn into wine. The materials and equipment needed are quite cheap. It’s a cheaper hobby than what we used to do, which is traveling all over the world. That takes a big chunk out of our retirement savings, so it’s a good thing that we got The Complete Illustrated Guide to Homemade Wine, and this really sparked our interest in winemaking. My wife used to have no interest in this at all, but after reading the book and seeing how fun it was, she also joined me. Now we get a lot of wine to enjoy and share with friends. Whenever there’s a birthday, we just give them our wine, and it’s great when they’re amazed that we made the wine ourselves. The Complete Illustrated Guide to Homemade Wine is something you should definitely check out if you’re planning to get started with winemaking. There are so many wine recipes and ideas here that you will surely find something that you will really like.

I'm really loving wine-making now

Wine making has become an entertaining new hobby for me. I’m not thinking of making this a source of income yet, though. For me this is just something I do for fun. I don’t want to spoil it with plans for earning. It really surprised me how easy it is to make wine from home. The equipment and ingredients needed are very basic and cheap. This manual is also very detailed. Everything I needed to know was discussed clearly. My first wine was a total success! I served it to guests on a weekend BBQ and they all loved it! I didn’t tell them right away that I made it because I wanted to see their real reaction. That wine was just a mild one, one of the simplest here. They were probably surprised at the uniqueness of it. They kept asking me where I got it. Because of that success, I was inspired to do more. I’ve already made a few bottles now, and I love them like my babies. Hahahaha! This is really a rewarding hobby if you are into wines, or if you simply want to try something new. Just don’t forget to drink moderately! ;)

It's definitely everything you need to learn wine-making

The Complete Illustrated Guide to Homemade Wine has very clear and easy to follow instructions. I’ve been a wine enthusiast for years, but had to wait for retirement before I can try making some on my own. I was supposed to attend a seminar on wine-making, but I figured out that’d be a waste of money, and settled for this book instead. I’m glad I did because I learned everything I needed to learn from here. It’s complete with detailed instructions and very clear illustrations. The only thing I don’t like about this is that there’s a recurring free for their membership website. I didn’t read the sales page well so I ended up getting surprised and furious when I was locked out of the membership website. I was a member there for 3 months more, and then I decided to quit because I already know a lot about wine making, and I now enjoy experimenting on my own. I think you only need the membership website if you’re still a beginner. After that, you can play around on your own.

The more you know the better

I just signed up but I have been making homemade wine for about 10 years now. I beleave the more you know the better the wine and as you stated "what goes around comes around", also do unto others as you would have them do unto you. so I make wine and drink wine and give wine.

I may never buy wine in a store again

I especially liked the pictures, the videos, and the step by step instructions.
I have never made wine at home before, but now that I have seen how easy it really is, I may never buy wine in a store again! Talk about saving big bucks!
